Get a job with Overland ClubDear "Wannabe Overland Crew"So you like the sound of Overland Club and you think that you have got what it take's to be an Overland Leader, well before you get too excited then read a little about what we demand and expect, its not about "travel the world and get paid for it " - far from it.! When we are looking for leaders we are looking to satisfy the demands of our clients as well as the demands of the company. To be an Overland Leader means you have to be resourceful, level headed, practical, and adaptable, as well as having the ability to get on well with people. To this extent we find those over 25 years of age, best fit. Our crew are responsible for the vehicle and equipment, maintaining them to ensure that there are no unnecessary mechanical hitches and if there are, they are dealt with swiftly with the minimum of disruption. They also take on the responsibility of the group's needs to ensure they are well informed of the areas they will be traveling through and generally ensure the smoothest possible running of the clients trip. That said we feel applicants should be experienced travelers with a positive attitude, great people skills and a sense of responsibility. If you still think you are the right person and are prepared to work overseas for up to 18 months at any one time, then please read on and complete the application form and send it back to us. Once we have received your completed application form we may invite you for an informal interview at our office here in Sedgefield, County Durham, England. If then successful you will then be asked to spend a 1 week induction here in our office, familiarizing yourself with Overland Club its product and operations. (During this time you'll be staying in Sedgefield, accommodation is provided.) If at the end of the week you like us and we like you, we will offer you a contract as a trainee crewmember. Our trainees are then required to obtain a PCV/HGV license if necessary as well an inbound flight at their own expense. (The flight cost is reimbursed after the first 12 months work.) Once on the road you will spend up to two months training with an experienced leader acting as your mentor, before then moving onto the role of assistant leader / crew member.
